We know everyone is in agony just waiting to see what holiday gifts we are recommending this year, so here you go! This does NOT include the girl’s list, maybe next time.
Also, all of the recommendations are linked with an affiliate code of some kind. That simply means we earn credit for anything you purchase with that link and will also make our Holidays even more JOLLY!
Day 1: We did not want to spend money on another book, so after a little googling and very little reading we decided to give the 3 day potty training method a try. We found another families “highs and lows” in an Today’s Parent article, sorry Lora Jensen (that’s the author of the method).
There’s really only 1 thing about taking vitamins that I don’t like and that’s forgetting to take them. If you haven’t heard of care/of vitamins you’re probably not on Instagram all that much, but they’ve had an iOS app for some time now that’s great at reminding and motivating you to rip open one of their daily packets!
Not only that, but you also get to customize your choice of vitamins and switch them up at any point. I’ve been taking evening primrose and B12 for several months now and feel as though they work great.
3 years ago on 18 September, just around 5:00pm, daddy, Grace and I were just sitting down to eat dinner. Little did we know our 2nd daughter had just been born. It wasn’t our intention to adopt twice, let alone two babies only 5-weeks apart, but later that night as we were all getting settled into bed our phone rang. It was relatively late on a Friday night, but we immediately recognized the number. It was someone from the Baltimore City Dept of Social Services. On the other end of the phone was the deputy director with a straightforward question.
It had only been a few weeks since we had finished all of the required training classes to become certified as a foster family by the Baltimore City Department of Social Services. At the time, we were still an Active Duty military family, so finding the time to commit to such an undertaking was tough. Even when it wasn't as easy as we had wanted, we found a way to get it done in just a couple of weeks. Those details matter, because only a few months prior we had lost our first child.
A few days ago we noticed that our IG name @westand.co which was short for West & Co could also have an entirely different meaning than we intended… "We Stand" instead of “West And.” At the time we didn’t think much of it but thought it was pretty neat. And now after what feels like a non-stop battle just to maintain our sanity after hearing things in the news, we believe it’s time to start being more vocal about what “We Stand” for, and who “We Stand” with. Each Wednesday we are going to start talking about the things we believe in, and the things that We Stand for. #WSW #WESTANDWEDNESDAY.
Not once had we ever imagined that a watch-sized battery could be so dangerous. Yesterday morning Charlotte told us she had just finished eating her snack. The comment was odd because we hadn’t given her anything to eat since we had just recently finished breakfast, so we prodded further only to hear her say "I swallowed my lucky coin."
Jonathan and I have longed to buy an Airstream and travel fulltime for some time now. We have quite literally talked about it for years but always went another route. More than twelve years into our relationship, two children, and two homes, now more than ever, I am ready. Unfortunately, we're still trying to finish renovating our Vermont home. We're also missing the most crucial piece, an Airstream.
